LOUISVILLE, Ky--The women’s cross country team leaped to into the top ten this week after the showing they had at the National Catholic Invitational. The team is ranked No. 7 in the Midwest region in the U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

CINCINNATI--Bellarmine University sent a team of eight women to compete at the Queen City Invitational cross country meet in Cincinnati, and the team of five freshmen and three juniors brought home a sixth place finish in the field of 10.

Bellarmine University will open its fall Cross Country season this Friday evening, September 4th, at the site of the 2009 NCAA Division II National Championships, on the campus of University of Southern Indiana in Evansville.  The season opening event is small in size but will feature perennial NCAA II National qualifier and host, University of Southern Indiana, and likely even National Junior College champions, Rend Lake College from Illinois, a Kenyan dominated squad, who last year boasted an Olympic finalist among its scoring members.
