LOUISVILLE, Ky.-- The Knights Volleyball Team squeezed a victory in a fiery 5 set match against the University of Wisconsin-Parkside (UWP) this afternoon. The final set scores were 25-13, 21-25, 25-16, 18-25, and 15-10.
Bellarmine accumulated a total of 62 kills versus UWP's 48. Leading the Knights in kills was freshman
Whitney Tormoehlen with 22 (.429 kill percentage) and junior
Emily Beckman with 19. Tormoehlen led the Knights in kills for the fifth set with four.
Senior setter
Caryn Schoeff assisted in 50 points and five kills for the Knights. Junior
Kaitlan Harris led the teams in digs with 17, with freshman
Kaitlin Young following closely with 14, and
Caryn Schoeff with 12.
The win was important for Bellarmine within the conference as both teams entered the match tied at 3-4. After Bellarmine's win, the Knights improve to 7-6 (4-4 GLVC), and the Rangers drop to 15-8 (3-5 GLVC).
The Knights are back in action next weekend in the GLIAC/GLVC crossover tournament in Lansing, Mich.
