LANSING, Mich.—The Bellarmine Volleyball team took advantage of a .576 sideout conversion percentage in a 25-23, 26-24, 25-18 victory over Lake Erie College in their second game of the 2009 GLIAC/GLVC Crossover Classic at the Aim High Sports Complex on Saturday morning.
The Knights (9-6) were led by Emily Beckman's 10 kills, eight defensive digs, three assists and two assisted blocks. Whitney Tormoehlen converted on nine of her 18 attack opportunities for a .333 match kill percentage.
Caryn Schoeff assisted on 30 of Bellarmine's 41 kills on the day, while also contributing five kills of her own. Kaitlan Harris finished the contest with nine defensive digs to lead the winning squad.
Lake Erie (8-20) was led by Mary Walter's five service aces and seven kills. Krista O'Connor assisted on 13 of the Storm's 30 kills in the match.
The Knights return to the court at 4 p.m. on Saturday for a match against Ashland University.
