INDIANAPOLIS--The NCAA Division II Field Hockey Committee has released the top teams in the South Region for this week's Division II ranking with Bellarmine standing strong at No. 7.

The field hockey team has beaten two Division I teams this year in St. Louis University and Robert Morris University.

The team has been led this year by junior Emily West, sophomore Ellen West, and sophomore, University of Louisville transfer, Lauren Schmeing. Together these three have scored 58 percent (15 of 26) of the goals, have 77 percent (10 of 13) of the assists, and racked up 65 percent (40 of 65) of the total points for the team for the 2009 campaign.
