No. 22 Knights record another shutout to improve to 8-1

SPRINGFIELD, Ill.(Oct. 2, 2009)--The No. 22 Bellarmine University women's soccer team recorded its sixth shutout of the season tonight, coasting to a 4-0 victory over the University of Illinois-Springfield in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match-up.  

Bellarmine (8-1) got all the scoring it needed when Kaitlin Kurilla found the back of the net off an assist from
Stephanie Wilson in the game's 23rd minute.  The Knights held UIS (2-7) to just one shot attempt on the
game while taking 22 shot of their own.  Other Bellarmine goals were recorded by Wilson, Melanie Stippler and Lauren Triplett.

The Knights are still in a 4-way tie for first in the GLVC standings with a 6-1 record.  On Sunday, Bellarmine travels to Quincy, Ill., to face the Hawks, who are one of the teams also at 6-1.
