LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Midfielder Ross Hopkins earned a spot on the All-Great Lakes Valley Conference First Team and led a trio of Bellarmine Men’ Soccer Team members who were honored by the league office on Thursday.
Forward Bradley Barraclough was named to the All-GLVC Second Team, while defender Grant Wheeler was named to the Third Team.
Hopkins was second in the conference in assists with seven on the season. He was also fifth in the league with 11 goals scored, four of which were game winners.
Barraclough registered eight goals during the regular season, and was second in the conference with 4.14 shots per game.
Wheeler anchored a defensive line that shutout five different opponents throughout the season. He has started in all 14 of his appearances this year, and has tallied one goal and one assist.
Northern Kentucky University forward Steven Beattie was named the Offensive Player of the Year, and Drury University goalkeeper Stephen Conner won the Defensive Player of the Year award. Ryan Swan of Drury was named the league’s Coach of the Year.
Bellarmine (10-5-1, 8-5-0 GLVC) will begin postseason play on Sunday against the University of Wisconsin-Parkside (13-4-2, 8-4-2 GLVC) in the First Round of the GLVC Tournament. Kickoff is scheduled for noon in Kenosha, Wisc.
