LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Bellarmine volleyball seniors Kelly Krucki and Caryn Schoeff, honored pregame for their contributions to the program, led the Knights to a 25-15, 25-17, 25-15 victory over the University of Illinois-Springfield on Friday night at Knights Hall.
Krucki, who stands at sixth place on the program's career assisted blocks list, picked up another to go with her nine kills and one solo block on the evening, giving her a .615 kill percentage for the match.
Schoeff assisted on 25 of the Knights' 40 kills on the night. She also contributed three kills and four digs.
Bellarmine's Whitney Tormoehlen led all players with 11 kills. Kaitlan Harris led the Knights with 14 digs.
Illinois-Springfield was paced by Courtnee Brown's seven kills, but the Prairie Stars were plagued with 20 attack errors, finishing with a .069 attack percentage.
The Knights took the advantage in total blocks with seven compared to Illinois-Springfield's two. The Knights did not trail until dropping the first point of the third set, and did not look back after the ensuing six-point rally.
The Bellarmine Volleyball Team returns to Knights Hall for one final match on Saturday afternoon against Quincy University. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
