Knights finish off home schedule with sweep of Quincy

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--The Bellarmine University volleyball game completed its home schedule today by knocking off Great Lakes Valley Conference foe Quincy University 3-0 (27-25, 25-15, 25-16).

Bellarmine junior Emily Beckman, led the Knights' offensive attack as she posted a match-high 15 kills with a .367 hitting percentage.  Senior Caryn Schoeff, playing for the final time in Knights Hall, had an around good match posting 27 assists and recording six digs and three assisted blocks.  Senior Kelly Krucki also made her final Knights Hall appearance, recording two kills.

The Hawks hung tough with Bellarmine in the first set, forcing the Knights to work a little extra in posting the 27-25 first set victory.  The Knights seem to find their rhythm in the second as they opened up an 18-5 lead before settling for the 10-point second set win.  Bellarmine closed out the third set strongly converting a slim 17-14 lead into a 25-16 triumph to claim the match.

The Knights improve to 13-8 on the season and get back to 6-6 in conference play.  Quincy falls to 6-19, 3-8 GLVC.  The Knights are currently tied for eighth in the conference and are battling for a spot in the eight-team GLVC tournament.

Bellarmine closes out its regular season with road games on Friday at Missouri-St. Louis and Friday at Missouri S&T.
