QUINCY, Ill.--The Quincy University Hawks got a goal with just 2:07 remaining in the game to slip past the visiting Bellarmine Knights 3-2 in a men's Great Lakes Valley Conference game.
The Hawk's Michael Andres scored on a header off a cross from Jack Wedemeier to earn the victory for Quincy (6-4-2, 5-2-1 GLVC).
Bellarmine's
Ross Hopkins had tied the score at two in the 59th minute when he booted a goal from 30 yards out. It was Hopkins' second goal of the game after scoring the game's opening goal in the 17th minute.
The Knights outshot Quincy 12-10 on the game and held a 4-2 advantage in corners. Hawks goalkeeper Kyle Dillman recorded seven saves to offset Bellarmine's offensive advantage.
Bellarmine now stands at 7-3-1 (5-2-1 GLVC). The Knights return home for their next two games, hosting Rockhurst at 6:30 p.m. Friday and Drury at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
