The men's and women's cross teams each moved up one spot in the Midwest region this past week in the U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) rankings. The men moved to No. 6 while the women moved to No. 7 in the polls.
The Bellarmine teams competed in the Greater Louisville Classic this past weekend with a strong 38 team field at E.P Tom Sawyer Park. Their showing help boost their ranking in the polls for this week.
The Knights men were led last week by Jordan Parayil who finished 62nd in a field of 334 runners with an eight kilometer run of 25:20.49. The Knights women were led by Carissa Martin and Cristin Samuels, who both turned in top 100 finishes--Martin 94th and Samuels right on her heels in 95th. Their times over the five kilometer course were 19:07.0 and 19:08.46.
The men's and women's cross country teams will run the terrain next at the DePauw-Rose Hulman Meet in Terre Haute, Ind.
