INDIANAPOLIS – Bellarmine University's Sarah DuPlessis, a senior from Elizabethtown, Ky., is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's September Golfer of the Month. DuPlessis completed three events during the month and finished in the top six in each.
At the Jim English Invitational held at the Danville Country Club on Sept. 10, DuPlessis fired a 4-over-par 77 to finish in second place overall. She guided the Knights to the team title at the 32-player, five-team event.
DuPlessis returned to a GLVC-heavy field at the Screaming Eagles Classic on Sept. 20-21 and again paced the Knights. She led Bellarmine to a sixth-place finish in an 11-team field. At the 36-hole tournament held at Cambridge Golf Course, DuPlessis finished tied for sixth overall. She shot a 77-78=155 to finish 11-over-par.
At the Midwest Shootout on Sept. 26-27, DuPlessis captured medalist honors by shooting a 70-74=144. Her even-par effort helped the Knights to a sixth-place team finish in a GLVC preview at Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo, Ill. DuPlessis defeated 62 fellow GLVC golfers to place first overall.
For the month of September, DuPlessis, in five rounds, posted a scoring average of 75.2.
Other top performers in the GLVC for the month of September included Drury's Katrina Choate, Illinois-Springfield's Tiffany Blumhorst, Indianapolis' Lyndsay McBride, Lewis' Allison Snyder, Missouri-St. Louis' Clara Vila and Southern Indiana's Kim Gottwald.
