ROLLA, Mo.—The Bellarmine Volleyball Team concluded their 2009 season with a 19-25, 25-19, 25-18, 27-25 victory over the Missouri University of Science & Technology on Saturday afternoon at the Bullman Multipurpose Building.
The game was the final collegiate contest for seniors Caryn Schoeff and Kelly Krucki. Schoeff assisted on 39 of Bellarmine's 52 kills, while Krucki had a pair of kills, solo blocks, and assisted blocks.
Emily Beckman had 18 kills and 11 defensive digs in the match, one short of her season high. The output was her fourth double-double of the year.
Beckman was one of three Knights with double digits dig totals. Kaitlan Harris led all players with 19, while Austin Ziegler contributed 13 for the victors.
Whitney Tormoehlen closed out her stellar freshman campaign with 15 kills and five digs, while fellow rookie Paula Byrns had one solo and one assisted block.
Bellarmine finishes their season with a 14-9 record, including a 7-7 Great Lakes Valley Conference mark. The record gave the Knights a tie for eighth place in the conference with St. Joseph's College, but the Pumas won the tiebreaker based on their win in the teams' Oct. 24 head-to-head meeting.
