LOUISVILLE, Ky--The Bellarmine Men's Tennis Team defeated Indiana Univeristy Southeast in eight out of nine matches to start off the season on Tuesday at the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex.

“The doubles teams played really well and it was a good first win for us,” Coach Todd Murphy stated after the match.
The Knights swept the Grenadiers handily in doubles, with two of the matches ending 8-2 and the third 8-5. In singles, Bellarmine won 5 of their 6 matches. Junior Nate Matthews went into a tie-breaker and eventually pulled out a 13-11 victory over Matt Coomer.
Freshman Jacob Knagenhjelm won his first match as a collegian in style by shutting out Evan Biesterveld 6-0, 6-0.
The tennis team will spend the next couple of weeks preparing for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Tournament at Northwood (Mich.) University from Sept. 24-27.
