LOUISVILLE, Ky.--For the second time in a week, the Bellarmine women's soccer team pulled an upset over a top 20 team. Today, it was a 1-0 home victory over the 20th-ranked University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
Last Friday, the Knights pulled a 1-0 road upset of the then unbeaten and 10th-ranked University of Indianapolis.
In today's game, which was mostly a defensive battle, Bellarmine scored the game's lone goal when Lauren Triplett converted on a pass from Amanda Moore.
The win ups Bellarmine's record to 6-1, and their 4-1 GLVC mark ties them for first in the conference. The Rangers were saddled with their first loss, falling to 5-1-2 (4-1-1).
The Knights are back in action of Sunday, Sept. 27 when they host Lewis University at noon.
