ST. CHARLES, Mo.—The Bellarmine University field hockey team won on the road today, defeating the Lindenwood Lions by a score of 4-1 this afternoon at Lindenwood.

The win bumps Bellarmine's record to 6-5 on the season, while the Lions fall to 3-5.

Bellarmine got solid play offensively, and did a good job on defense, where highlights included an impressive kick save for goalkeeper Katie Lange and a defensive save for Connor Galle.

The Knights offense got going early, getting a goal from Samantha Biedron just four minutes into the game.

Christina Bowman made it 2-0 when she caught up to a blocked shot and put it past Lindenwood's goalkeeper for the score at the 18 minute mark.  The Knights took a 3-0 lead into halftime when Emily West converted a pass from Biedron just seconds before the period ended.

Lindenwood cut into the Knights lead just after halftime when the Lions' Irene Taranhike managed to find the cage after colliding with Lange.

However, that would be as close as the Lions would get as Ceit Love provided an insurance goal and ended the game's scoring to push the final margin to 4-1.

The Knights continue their road trip tomorrow with a game at St. Louis University.  Game time is 2 p.m. (EDT).
