LOUISVILLE, Ky.--The Bellarmine University women's soccer team shut out Kentucky Wesleyan 1-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference opener for both schools today at Frazier Stadium.

Brianna Simmons late in the first half for the game's only goal. The Knights' goalkeeper
Amy Kunowski recorded her second shutout in just three games as Bellarmine improves to 3-0 (1-0 GLVC) on the season.
For the Panthers, the loss drops them to an even 1-1-1 on the season as they start the GLVC season 0-1.
Bellarmine outshot Kentucky Wesleyan 8-2 for the game, and the Knights held a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks. The Panthers were whistled for five fouls while the Knights committed four.
Bellarmine returns to action one week from today when the Knights travel to Highland Heights, Ky., to face the Norse of Northern Kentucky.
