QUINCY, Ill. – The Bellarmine University volleyball team ran its current win streak to seven matches in a straight sets victory over Quincy University on Friday night at Pepsi Arena.
The Knights were paced by reigning Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week Emily Beckman's game high 13 kills on 37 attack attempts. Her 16 defensive digs gave her a 12th double-double on the season, including three consecutive contests of achieving the feat.
Bailey BredenbeckCorp supplied 34 assists on 40 total Bellarmine kills. Kaitlan Harris shared top honors with Beckman in the digs department with 16, and added a trio of service aces. Kaitlin Young also recorded double digit digs with 14.
Alyson Harmeling, Krista Gibson, and Paula Byrns each had six kills and a solo block on the evening, as the Knights were three shy of the Hawks' block tally for the match.
Bellarmine (15-8, 7-4 GLVC) will look to extend the winning streak on Saturday afternoon with a match at the University of Illinois-Springfield. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m.
