LOUISVILLE, Ky.--The Bellarmine University men's soccer team rolled past the University of Illinois-Springfield with a convincing 6-0 victory in today's Great Lakes Valley Conference contest at O.B. Frazier Stadium.

Seniors Bradley Barraclough and Travis Bakai each notched two goals on the day as Bellarmine dominated play throughout the match.

The Knights outshot the Prairie Stars 21-6 on the day, including a 10-1 advantage on shots on goal. The one shot UIS did get off on target—a rocket from the foot of Mike Brydl—resulted in an impressive save by Bellarmine goalkeeper Matthew Soyka.

Bellarmine took a 2-0 halftime lead, on Barraclough's ninth and 10th goals of the season. The Lincoln, England native now has 47 in his career, ranking him second on Bellarmine's all-time list.

After the intermission, the Knights kept up the pressure as defender Grant Wheeler scored his second goal of the season by heading in a corner kick in the 71st minute. Less than three minutes later, Jordan Dellamano extended the lead to 4-0 as he converted a cross by Joseph Bettger.

Bakai finished the Bellarmine scoring with his first two goals of the season, both coming off headers. The first, in the 85th minute, came off a corner kick, and the final goal came with just 21 ticks left on the clock as Bakai headed in a cross from Steve Seithel.

Bellarmine improves to 6-4-1, 4-3-1 GLVC, and the Prairie Stars fall to 1-8-1, 1-7-1 GLVC.

The Knights hit the road for their next two contests, traveling to Springfield, Mo., to face Drury on Friday and continuing the road trip at Rockhurst on Sunday.
