ORLANDO, Fla.--The Bellarmine University softball team swept both games they played at the Rebel Spring Games in Orlando, Fla., this morning to even their season record at 6-6. In the first game, the Knights defeated St. Xavier University by a 4-1 count, and followed that up with an 8-1 dismantling of St. Rose.
In the first game, senior third baseman
Emily O'Bryan provided much of the offensive punch for Bellarmine going 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs and a run scored. Pitcher
Amanda Meyer went the distance and scattered six hits while striking out four in picking up the complete game victory.
In game two, sophomore first baseman
Lauren Summe drove in four runs, including a bases clearing double in the second inning to lead the Knights' attack.
Jordan Basham and
Megan Murdoch also had solid games going 2-for-4 and 2-for-3 respectively.
Kristin Gramling duplicated Meyers' first game pitching performance by also tossing a six-hit complete game victory.
Bellarmine is back in action tomorrow at the Rebel Games with contests scheduled against Georgian Court and Holy Family.
