ORLANDO, Fla.--The Bellarmine University softball team took a 2-run lead into the last inning, but Holy Family rallied to tie it and eventually got past the Knights 5-3 in 10 innings at the Rebel Spring Games in Orlando.

Bellarmine pushed across a run in the fourth inning when Emily O'Bryan led off with a double and scored after Holy Family misplayed a bunt off the bat of Lauren Summe.

The Knights extended the lead to 2-0 in the fifth as Cynthia Brown led off with a single, was sacrificed to second by Mariya Kobayshi and scored on O'Bryan's second double of the day.

Bellarmine kept the Tigers out of the scoring column until the top of the seventh when they drew a two-walk then put together three consecutive singles to tie the score at two and force extra innings.

In the 10th, Holy Family struck again with two outs, plating two runs with a single and double to take a 5-3 lead.  In the bottom of the inning, the Knights got a runner to third, but couldn't  get the big hit they needed and lost to the Tigers.

Only three Bellarmine players recorded hits on the day with O'Bryan, Brown and Megan Murdoch each getting two base hits apiece.  Amanda Meyer pitched all 10 innings for the Knights and was saddled with the loss.

Earlier in the day, the Knights' game against Georgian Court was rained out and rescheduled for tomorrow at 3 p.m.
