LOUISVILLE, Ky.--The Bellarmine University men's tennis team said goodbye to four seniors today, then said goodbye to the Pumas of St. Joseph's in a 9-0 victory at the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex.
The Knights didn't drop a set in improving their overall record to 6-4 while posting their first Great Lakes Valley Conference win against two losses. St. Joseph's fell to 5-12, 0-4 GLVC.
In doubles, Bellarmine lost just three games en route to jumping out to a 3-0 lead. In the singles portion of the match, Knights Bryan Skaggs and
Chris Cotton made their first appearances of the year and came away with straight sets victories at the No. 5 and No. 6 positions.
Prior to the begin of play, Bellarmine recognized
Nate Matthews,
Tyler Worley,
Todd Atcher, and
Gilbert Wang in senior day ceremonies. Today's match was the final home appearance for the Knights in the 2009-10 season.
Bellarmine plays its next three matches on the road, starting this coming Friday at Lewis.
