OWENSBORO, Ky.—The Bellarmine University baseball team got clutch performances from Chris Wiedmar and Braxton Graven as the Knights scored an important 10-3 conference victory over Kentucky Wesleyan this afternoon. The game was a make-up for a contest rained out in March.
Wiedmar provided the game-winning RBI with his two-run double in the fifth inning, and Graven helped blow the game open with a grand slam in the top of the of sixth as Bellarmine cruised to the 7-run victory.
With the win, Bellarmine improves to 26-21 overall and 13-10 in the GLVC, which moves them up to third place in the GLVC East. The Panthers fall to 19-23, 11-13.
Bellarmine is back in action on Saturday and Sunday with a 4-game series against Lewis. Doubleheaders are scheduled to start at noon both days.
