Mars Hill answered quickly, though, as they put up two runs in the bottom of the first as they drew even at 2-2.

Murdoch, Erin Sireno, and Caley Melton all recorded RBIs as the Knights added single runs in each of the third, fifth and seventh innings to stretch the lead to 5-2 heading into the bottom of the seventh.

Mars Hill rallied in the bottom of the seventh scoring three runs with two outs to force extra innings.

The Knights would not be denied though as Jordan Basham singled to center field to knock in Angel Zimmerman to lead the Knights to a 6-5 victory.
