LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Bellarmine Knights cruised to two victories, 6-1 and 4-2, over the Maryville Saints in a doubleheader at Knights Field on Saturday afternoon.
An offensive onslaught by the Knights in the second launched Bellarmine to an early 3-0 lead in game one. Senior outfielder
Braxton Graven led the Knights offense with two hits and a run scored. The Knights recorded eight hits as they went to defeat the Saints 6-1.

Kyle Grana earned his first win as a Knight, bringing his record to 1-2. He gave up seven hits and struck out nine in the win. Maryville starting pitcher Cameron Dyer fell to 0-2 on the season with the loss.
In the second game, the Saints quickly jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second, but the Knights quickly answered with a run apiece in the second and third. Sophomore Sam Burke blasted his first homerun of the year over the left field wall, only the second homer for the Knights this season. Burke,

Bellarmine starter
Jason Sterrett came out of the game with a pulled back muscle after striking out the first batter he faced. Reliever
Matt Bayes was credited with the win, and he advanced to 2-1 on the season. Bayes gave up six hits and struck out one. Caleb Shelly earned his first save in the win, and gave up only three hits and no runs.
The Saints starter Brett Hancock fell to 2-1 on the season in the loss. He gave up five hits and three runs, while striking out four. Reliever Kevin Griffith threw the final 3.1 innings, giving up six hits and one run.
The Knights will look to sweep the series against Maryville tomorrow, with first pitch slated for 1 p.m. at Knights Field.
