LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- The Bellarmine University softball team stretched their Great Lakes Valley Conference best win streak to ten games on Wednesday as they swept the visiting Kentucky State Thorobreds winning 5-1 and 8-0.
GAME 1
It was the same old story but a different character to open the game as freshman
Erin Sireno sent a ball flying over the left field fence in the first help the Knights jump out to a 2-0 lead.
Kentucky state would draw within one in the top half of the second as Lamara Parker hit a single to the left field gap to score the visitors only run of the day.
In the bottom of the third, Bellarmine showed great discipline with runners on second and third and one out as they drew four straight walks to plate three runs, taking a 5-1 lead.
That would be all the runs they would need as Coach Rene Hicks got a lights out pitching performance from freshman
Kaitlin Flak as she went the full seven innings giving up only one earned run and striking out a career high nine batters to pick up the win.
