LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Winners of their past seven matches, the No. 16 Bellarmine University women's soccer team will host a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference games this weekend as they welcome Lewis University and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside to Owsley B. Frazier Stadium.

Bellarmine(7-0-1, 6-0 GLVC) is the lone unbeaten team in the conference, the only blemish on the season a 1-1 draw at Tiffin University to open the season. This marks the best start in the program's history to go along with its highest ranking ever.

Led by the duo of Alex Kowalski and Abby Janszen who have five goals apiece, the Knights are getting early leads this season, outscoring their opponents 14-1 in the first half. After scoring four goals and an assist last week in wins over Missouri S&T and Drury, Janszen was named the GLVC Player of the Week.

The Flyers of the Lewis(4-2-1, 4-1-1 GLVC) are coming off home victories over Maryville and Missouri-St. Louis last weekend.  Struggling to score this season, Lewis ranks 11th in the GLVC in goals per game at 1.0 per game, but are also only giving up 0.69 goals to their opponents.

Sunday's matchup between the Knights and Rangers will pit last season's GLVC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year when Abby Schuhmann will square off against Parkside's Shannon Becker. The Ranger's senior All-American has tallied four goals and seven assists on the season and is the program all-time career leader in points. Schuhmann and the Bellarmine defense has had success in recent week in shutting down some of the GLVC's best offensive players and will need to again to pull out the victory.

Friday's game is set for a 3:55 PM start time with Sunday's matchup between the Knights and Rangers beginning at noon.
