LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- Looking to stay hot, the Bellarmine University women's basketball team will play two crucial Great Lakes Valley Conference games this week against rivals Southern Indiana on Thursday in Knights Hall and at Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday.

Coming off an impressive comeback victory over No. 21 Wisconsin-Parkside where they were down by 22 points in the first half, Bellarmine (8-9, 2-7 GLVC) looks to continue their domination over both schools as the Knights lead the all-time series with Southern Indiana 39-19, as well as with the Panthers, 56-14.

After missing three games with a leg injury, guard Kylie Brady has come back with strong, averaging 19.6 points per game while scoring from all over the court. Leading the team with 14.4 ppg, she has reached double-figures in 10 of her 14 games on the year.

As a team the Knights have regained their shooting touch, hitting above 42% from the field in their last three games, including hitting at a 52.8% rate in the upset against Wisconsin-Parkside.

The Screaming Eagles of Southern Indiana (7-10, 1-8 GLVC) come into Knights Hall after picking up their first conference win, a 58-55 victory over St. Joseph's. The game will feature two of the top freshmen in the GLVC with Bellarmine's Darion Hutchinson squaring off against USI's Anna Hackert. Hutchinson is rounding back into early season form, averaging 13.0 points and 7.6 boards in her last three outings, while Hackert is putting up 10.9 points and 6.0 boards per game.

Featuring nine new players on the roster, the Screaming Eagles have struggled to find consistency winning only two of their last 11 games after starting out 5-1. Coach Rick Stein does have his team playing solid defense, ranking third in the GLVC with a +4.0 turnover margin while registering over 12 steals a game.

On Saturday, Bellarmine will have a chance to knock off Kentucky Wesleyan (12-5, 6-3 GLVC), which currently sits in second place in the GLVC East. One of the most balanced team in the conference, the Panthers feature 10 players who see at least 13.0 minutes per game. Offensively, teams have found success against the Panthers this year as KWC ranks 15th in the GLVC in field goal defense, allowing their opponents to shot 43.7% from the field.

Thursday's home matchup is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. with Saturday's game at Kentucky Wesleyan set for 2:00 p.m. EST. Fans not making the trip to Owensboro can listen to the game live on Bellarmine Radio.
