NEW ORLEANS ---The Bellarmine University men's and women's cross country team had seven athletes named to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic team as announced on Thursday.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team in Division II, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or greater through the most-recent semester, completed at least 12 credit hours in the semester of cross country competition, and placed in the top 50 percent at the most recent NCAA National Championships or in the top 30 percent at the NCAA Regional Championships.
On the men's side, seniors
Jordan Parayil and
Nate Dotterweich were joined by underclassmen
Robert Sandlin, Jr.. and
Dominic Perronie. All four athletes made the All-GLVC team in the fall, while Parayil went on to run in the NCAA Championship.
The four male athletes is the fourth most of any school in Div.-II as three schools placed five runners on the list.
For the women,
Angela Musk and
Emily Frith both earned All-Midwest Region honors this season while leading the Knights to a runner-up finish in the GLVC. Joining the duo on the All-Academic team was
Kelsey Love, who is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Nursing at Bellarmine.
