After scoring a run the sixth, the Hawks' Monica Gray tripled to right center to bring in another run and tie the game at three with just one out. But freshman pitcher
Alicia Miller stayed focused, getting two of the next three batters to pop out to end the threat.
In the bottom of the seventh, Bellarmine had a chance to end the game, but stranded
Lauren Summe at third after she tripled down the right field line with just one out.
Hicks, a freshman from Louisville, provided the game winner for Bellarmine, crushing a solo shot to left field with two outs in the bottom of the eighth. It was Hicks' third homer of the season and second in as many days.
Miller picked up the win for the Knights, going 8.0 innings and giving up two earned runs to improve her record to 7-6 on the year.
