LOUISVILLE, Ky. ---
Megan Murdoch's walk-off home run in the bottom of the tenth helped the Knights take game two of a doubleheader against Kentucky Wesleyan College after dropping the opener to the Panthers in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.
Bellarmine (26-22, 16-12 GLVC) sits in fourth place in the GLVC East heading into tomorrow's home finale against Southern Indiana. The Screaming Eagles cancelled their doubleheader today against Northern Kentucky due to inclement weather.
Game 1: Kentucky Wesleyan 2, Bellarmine 1
Kentucky Wesleyan outfielder Jocalyn Ress hit a pair of solo homers, including one in the top of the seventh, to steal game one for the visitors from Owensboro, Ky.
Kayla Padgett, Bellarmine's 5-3 second basemen, broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the third when she hit a solo shot over the right centerfield fence off KWC starter Ashlee Winstead. The Knights would struggle to find hits the rest of the way as Winstead went the full 7.0 innings, allowing only four hits and striking out 15 to earn the win.
Meanwhile, the Knights'
Alicia Miller(13-14) was tagged with the loss, going the distance while giving up nine hits and registering one strikeout.

Game 2: Bellarmine 4, Kentucky Wesleyan (10 innings)
The Knights outlasted the Panthers in game two despite KWC owning a 10-5 advantage in hits. In addition to going 10 innings, the game was delayed for 30 minutes in the top of the fifth because of lightning in the area.
After KWC went ahead 2-0 in the top of the third, Bellarmine scored three runs as part of a two out rally in the bottom half of the inning to build a 3-2 lead. Freshman
Hannah Daunhauer kicked the rally off by finding the gap in right center to bring home
Lauren Summe from second.
Next up,
Madi Ratliff ripped a single to right field to score Daunhauer and Murdoch. A sac fly in the top of the seventh by the Panthers would tie the game up, sending the contest into extra innings.
Bellarmine starter
Amanda Meyer and Winstead, who came into the game for relief in sixth, dueled for the first two extra frames. Winstead induced a pop up by Summe to lead off the tenth, but did not have the same luck with Murdoch, a junior from Indianapolis, Ind.
The homer was Murdoch's 10th of the year and 28th of her career, putting her two behind
Jordan Basham's school record of 30.
Meyer pitched all 10.0 innings of the marathon game, giving up 10 hits and striking out six. Winstead was effective in game two as well, striking out seven over 4.1 innings of work, but made a crucial mistake that decided the game.
