LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Bellarmine University's Kyle Grana has been named All-Region by both the American Baseball Coaches Association and by Daktronics. The hard-throwing right-handed starting pitcher was named first team All-Midwest Region by the ABCA and was named to the second team All-Midwest Region Squad by Daktronics, which is selected by the region's sports information directors.
Grana ended his 2012 campaign with stellar numbers including a final record of 8-2 with a 1.28 earned run average. The junior from Wildwood, Mo., ranks among the nation's top 10 for ERA and hits allowed per nine innings (5.83). He also ranks 13th for strikeouts per nine innings (10.81).
Leading the Bellarmine pitching staff with 63.1 innings pitched, Grana surrendered only nine earned runs all season and never gave up a home run. He also led all Bellarmine hurlers with 76 strikeouts, and his strikeouts to hits ratio was 1.85.
