Bellarmine men's tennis opens year at DePauw Invitational

The Bellarmine University men's tennis team competed at the DePauw University Invitational Tournament this past weekend, where the Knights' Anton Rabinov won the number one singles flight, dropping only five games in three matches.

"Anton picked up right where he left off last year but has come back stronger, fitter and even more determined," said Bellarmine Head Coach John Mican.

Other highlights for the Knights were Igal Mostkov taking second in the number two singles flight and Carlos Antonioli going a combined 3-1 in singles and doubles in the two-day event.

Mostkov narrowly missed a Bellarmine sweep in number one and number two singles, dropping the flight championship in a tough three set match. "Igal played some great tennis over the weekend,” Mican said, “but playing three singles matches in two days was a lot to ask as he gets back into tennis shape.”

All 10 of Knights who competed picked up at least one win at the tournament including freshman Nathan Walroth, who earned his first college victory as he teamed with Logan Knott at number two doubles.
