Women's tennis drops dual match to West Virginia State

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—The Bellarmine University women's tennis team dropped its  first dual match of the 2012-13 season, falling 7-2 as the Knights hosted West Virginia State this afternoon on campus at the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex.

Bellarmine managed just one win in doubles and one in singles as the Yellow Jackets posted the victory.  The Knights' first point came when freshman Michelle McFerran teamed with junior Abby Dorton to win 8-4 at number three doubles.

In singles competition, Bellarmine sophomore Elizabeth Crush earned the only point for the Knights when she won in a super tiebreak (3-6, 6-0, 10-2) over Amber Schneider at number six singles.

Bellarmine returns to action on Sunday (Sept. 30) with a 1 p.m. dual match at Indiana University Southeast.
