LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- Members of the Bellarmine Knights swim team are piling up the yardage in the pool for a good cause as they hope to make one child's dream come true by sending him or her on a trip to Disney World thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Coach John Brucato's squad has a goal to swim 875 miles--the distance between Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center, where Bellarmine practices, and Disney World in Florida--in the 26 practices from Jan. 6-26. The Knights are already three days into their journey and have racked up 130 miles, which takes them just past Bowling Green.

The team is accepting donations and those wishing to contribute can contact Brucato at jbrucato@bellarmine.edu.

Since forming a partnership in 2003, NCAA Division-II and the Make-A-Wish Foundation have raised more than $1.9 million through contributions from student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and fans. Through these donations, Make-A-Wish has been able grant countless wishes to kids with terminal disease.
