LOUISVILLE, Ky.--The Bellarmine University women's tennis team rolled past visiting Lincoln Memorial 8-1 in a dual match played on the indoor courts of the Sport, Recreation and Fitness Center on Sunday afternoon.
The Knights struggled in doubles at the start of the match but were ultimately able to persevere to go up 3-0 to start the match.
"Winning all three of the doubles points took so much pressure off our singles play that the girls were able to relax and just go for their shots," said Coach
John Mican.
MIchelle McFerran,
Jamie Claeys and
Hannah-Rose Hagan all picked up two points a piece for the Knights. Hagan came back from losing the first set 6-0 to win in a third set super tie-break 11-9 while saving a match point along the way. "After Hannah lost the first seven games of the match she was determined to win just one game, and once she won the next game there was no stopping her," Mican said.
