LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Bellarmine University men's tennis team fell to GLVC opponent McKendree University on Saturday in a tight match that ended 5-4.

Bellarmine won two of three doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead heading into singles play. It was the pairings of Anton Rabinov and Igal Mostkov, and Nathan Walroth and Alan Gardiner who were able to tame the Bearcats and win their matches.

The Knights struggled in singles play, only earning two wins and falling short of claiming victory for the match. It was Mostkov and Jimmy Fernandez who were able to win their singles matches and give the Knights a chance for the win.

With the match tied at 4-4 the number one singles match-up between Rabinov and Gabor Toth ended up being the deciding contest. Going into a third set, Rabinov battled hard but fell just short and the Bearcats earned the victory 5-4.
 
Bellarmine will have a chance for redemption when they travel to Owensboro to take on Kentucky Wesleyan College on Friday Mar. 29.
