LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Bellarmine University women's tennis team defeated GLVC foe McKendree University on Saturday 6-3 to claim their first Great Lakes Valley Conference victory of 2013.

The Knights got off to a good start with the doubles pairings of Hannah-Rose Hagan and Evann Waschuk, and Jamie Claeys and Abby Day winning against the Bearcats to go up 2-1 early.

Despite dropping first and second singles to McKendree, Michelle McFerran, Hagan, Claeys and Abby Dorton were all able to win their singles matches to secure victory for the Knights.

Bellarmine will take the court again on Friday Mar. 29 in Owensboro against another GLVC opponent, Kentucky Wesleyan College.
