LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Recently the Bellarmine University lacrosse team put on clinic for local youths and used the opportunity to help raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The clinic was free of charge but the team collected donations to give to the organization.
Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with terminal medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
Current Bellarmine players and coaches volunteered their time and expertise to work with local kids from grades 3-8 on the basic fundamentals of lacrosse such as shooting, passing, and defense.
The clinic continues Bellarmine Athletics' goal of having a positive impact on the local community. This initiative is spearheaded by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, which has challenged each of the school's athletic teams to complete two service projects during the year.
