LOUISVILLE, Ky.—In their final home match of the season, the Bellarmine University women's tennis team fell behind 3-0 after doubles, and could not recover as the Lewis Flyers took the 6-3 win today at the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match.
Prior to the match, senior day activities honored
Abby Day and
Hannah-Rose Hagan, who were playing for the final time at Bellarmine.
Hagan provided one of the Knights' highlights by winning her No. 5 singles match in straight sets over Brianna Markgraf 6-3, 7-5.
Other points were won by freshman
Michelle McFerran at No. 3 singles and
Abby Dorton at No. 6 singles.
The Knights now await the final results from around the GLVC, to find out their opponent in the conference championship. Current standings indicate Bellarmine will be the No. 3 seed from the East and face Rockhurst (10-6, 4-1), the West's No. 2 seed.
