INDIANAPOLIS—The Bellarmine University women's tennis team fell 5-1 to Rockhurst in the quarterfinals of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship Tournament today in Indianapolis, ending the Knights' season with a 12-10 record.
Bellarmine got a point at the No. 1 doubles spot as
Evann Waschuk and
Hannah-Rose Hagan teamed for the 9-7 victory over Karsyn Betts and Christine Schatz. The win was Hagan's 97
th of her career, leaving her just one shy of the Roebker sisters (Sarah and Emily) for third place in program history.
In the postseason, as soon as a team secures their fifth point, the match is ended. Therefore, three singles matches remained unfinished.
Rockhurst, the No. 2 seed from the GLVC West, will face Lewis in the semifinals. Lewis, the top seed from the East defeated William Jewell 5-0 in a quarterfinal match earlier today.
