LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- The Bellarmine University men's and women's tennis teams continued the schools initiative of helping out in the local community by collecting clothes to donate to Wayside Christian Mission.

The team collected more than 100 articles of clothing for the Louisville shelter that gives refuge and educational programs to the city's homeless population. Members of the team took the clothing to Wayside in mid-March, saying it was a rewarding experience to help those in need.

The service project was spearheaded by Bellarmine's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee which has challenged each of the school's athletic teams to perform multiple projects in and around the community. Previous projects included cleaning up a local baseball park, making hand-made scarves for St. Vincent de Paul, and making donations to the Ronald McDonald House, among others.
