The American Baseball Coaches Association announced the Rawlings 2013 All Midwest Region Team, and Bellarmine's
Austin Crutcher and
Kyle Grana each earned 2
nd Team honors.
Crutcher, a center fielder from Lexington, Ky., led the Knights during the 2013 season wih a .350 batting average and led the Great Lakes Valley Conference in stolen bases with 24. Earlier this year, he was voted to the All-GLVC first team and earned conference “Player of the Week” honors.
Grana, a hard-throwing righted pitcher from Wildwood, Mo., was Bellarmine's top starting pitcher with a record of 6-2 and a earned run average of just 2.60. He led the league in strikeouts and was the toughest to hit against with opponents batting just .183 off Grana this season. He was a 1
st Team All-GLVC performer, and was among national leaders in strikeouts per nine innings pitched.
