LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Bellarmine University seniors Trevor Timmerberg and Dillon Ward have been selected to play on the “South” team in the 72nd United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association/LaxWorld North-South Game. It is the first time that Bellarmine players have been selected to participate in the all-star game.
Timmerberg, a short stick middie, had three goals and three assists on the season with 18 ground balls and 13 causted turnovers. Ward, a goalie, led the nation with a 66.2 percent save percentage and 208 total saves. He was named as the thrid team All-American goalie earlier this year.
The DI/II North-South game will be played at the Edith Robb Dixon Field on the campus of Cabrini College in Radnor, PA, on Friday May 24 at 5:30 PM. This is a great opportunity for the seniors who play in these games to finish their collegiate career and carry on the tradition. This tradition started in 1940 and has been played every year with the exception of 1944 and 1945.
The Division I/II North team will be coached by Eric Seremet, the Head Men's Lacrosse Coach at the United States Air Force Academy. Seremet is just completing his fifth year as the Air Force Head Coach.
The Division I/II South team will be coached by Mike Corrado, the Head Men's Lacrosse Coach at Villanova University. The 2012-13 season marks Corrado's seventh year as the Head Coach at Villanova and his 18th year overall with the program.
