For its SAAC Challenge project, the Bellarmine University baseball team quite literally brought a little bit of ballpark flavor to St. Vincent de Paul in Louisville. According to its website, at St. Vincent de Paul, "through our homeless shelters, supportive housing programs and professional case management services, we provide compassion and hope for people struggling to overcome barriers to self-sufficiency." The Knights served over 250 individuals their very own ballpark-themed dinner and raised a collection of toiletries for those in need. Said sophomore catcher Anthony Baker, a SAAC committee member: "As a team, Bellarmine baseball realizes how fortunate we are to be able to play our sport for a prestigious university and took pleasure from making a small impact in the lives of a few who are struggling in our community."
