The Bellarmine University volleyball team recently gave an assist to the Bargain Center at Wayside Christian Mission in Louisville as one of its SAAC Challenge projects. The team contributed to the mission's goal by cleaning shelves and organizing items such as clothes, shoes and books. According to the organization, the purpose of the Wayside Christian Mission is to respond to human need of the poor and homeless by providing temporary housing/shelter, food, clothing, nurturing, spiritual and social enrichment, encouragement and referrals, and by providing the support services and skills that would permit and encourage a return to a state of self-sufficiency so that human dignity can be restored and the love of God can be shared.
