QUINCY, Ill. — The sixth-seeded Bellarmine University men's soccer team saw its season end Sunday with a 3-1 loss to third-seeded Quincy in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament quarterfinals at Legends Stadium.
Bellarmine (10-9) and Quincy (12-5-1) were locked in a scoreless tie at halftime, but the Hawks scored three straight goals in the second half before the Knights finally answered.
After the intermission, Eddie Plesha sank a shot while sliding off a double assist from Pete Condol and Jordan Stephens as the Hawks led 1-0 in the 54th minute.
Plesha sandwiched a second goal around a score by Kyle Fraser as the Hawks scored three times within a 10-minute span for a 3-0 lead in the 64th minute.
Bellarmine ended Quincy's shutout bid in the 89th minute as sophomore midfielder
Ryan Fagan scored on a deep run down the left side. It was Fagan's third goal this season.
Quincy had eight shots, with five coming on goal. Bellarmine had four attempts, with half coming on frame.
