LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University field hockey team participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer's on Sept. 12 in downtown Louisville. The team raised just under $500 for the Alzheimer's Association.
The Knights showed up ready to support and help spread awareness for the disease. Throughout the walk, windmill flowers blew in the wind as they represented all the people who are struggling with Alzheimer's today, and the individuals who have lost their lives to the disease.
At the end of the walk, the team planted their windmill flowers in the Promise Garden in remembrance of those who have suffered from this horrific disease. The team took a picture as a reminder of the Promise Garden, where it promised to continue its support for finding a cure for Alzheimer's disease, said field hockey SAAC representative Alex Moro.
