LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Giving to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul has been an annual mission of the Bellarmine University swimming teams.
In November, the Knights partook in a campus-wide project in which they collected much-needed items for the charitable organization.
In early January, members of the swim team delivered the care packages to the homeless center at St. Vincent de Paul's downtown location.
"We collected many different toiletry articles for the needy men and women St. Vincent de Paul serves," SAAC representative and Knights junior
Caroline Smith said. "These items will be used to supply shoe boxes made and given to the clients of St. Vincent de Paul.
"The directors of the site were thrilled to receive so many items; they had been running very low on their supply of toiletry items."
This is the fourth year the Knights reached out to St. Vincent de Paul to help it in fulfilling its mission of helping the poor, the hungry and the homeless in Louisville.
