LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University men's basketball team recently participated in Student Appreciation Day at Chenoweth Elementary School and spent time with young patients at Kosair Pediatric Rehabilitation Services.
At Chenoweth, the Knights greeted students as they arrived at school.
"We made tunnels as they got off the bus and high-fived them as they got out of their parents' cars," junior guard
Rusty Troutman said. "It was a great opportunity to congratulate and encourage these young boys and girls as they continue to try and better themselves."
At Kosair Pediatric Rehabilitation Services, the Knights spent time with children who were receiving therapy.
"We spent time with them in a recreation area that included a basketball goal, rope swing, ball pit and trampolines," junior guard
Al Davis said. "Their faces lit up as we distributed gifts to them and played any game they wanted to play. It was great to see the smiles on their faces, and I am happy we were able to be a part of that."
