LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University women's soccer team recently participated in "I Love to Read Day" at Frayser Elementary School in Louisville.
The players went in shifts from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and read to different classes as individuals or in pairs. They also answered questions about being a college athlete and the importance of reading and academic progress in allowing them that opportunity.
"This is my second year participating in the 'I Love to Read Day' at Frayser Elementary," junior captain/SAAC representative
Hannah Poteet said. "It is so much fun getting to see the kids' faces light up when we read them a book. Not only did I get to teach them a bit about Bellarmine and the college experience, but they taught me a new dance too! I would love for this to become a tradition that the women's soccer team does every year."
